Perspective, It Really Does Matter
Having the right mindset makes every day a beautiful day, no matter how your day starts or what side of the bed you wake up.
Because let’s be honest, nothing affects our perspective unless we allow it and that means it’s a choice we make and no one’s to blame, but ourselves for how we’ve chosen to think.
Food for thought
Perspective can be the anchor or the sail in your ship, but never let your perspective become the weight that sinks your ship. Think about it!
Quick side note; The wind is our vision that drives our ship to where we want to go. Having no vision is like a ship lost at sea having no destination to sail.
Having the right perspective is the difference between us cultivating healthy thoughts versus unhealthy. There’s no middle ground, you’re either going up or down, and that’s the difference of going through life with a smile 😃 or frown ☹️.
Healthy Vs Unhealthy Thinking
Everything in life has a cause and effect, but how you react is entirely up to you which is to say you’re always in control of you.
Take responsibility for your self, your actions and reactions because no one can force you to do anything you haven’t made a choice to do first.
No one has more control over your mind than you. Own your thoughts, and then you will have the power to control them.
By owning our thoughts we’re consciously choosing not to make excuses for ourselves any longer.
Let’s be honest, not one excuse has ever solved a single problem, but an excuse will cause and create countless more problems. Come on admit it, we’ve all felt the frustration and pain they’ve caused us! And that’s a lot of unnecessary headaches we could do without! Wouldn’t you agree?
Think about it,
You can’t change what you don’t own! So own your thoughts, then change them.
Healthy thinking causes our souls to sing in rhapsodic euphoric melodies of peace and tranquility. (Yeah, I love those words, even though they’re not so easy on the tongue.🙄)
Can a flower seed produce a weed? Of course not and that’s my point. Be mindful of the garden you’re planting within your mind because the wrong seeds planted may turn out to be the death of your garden.
Who wants to spend their entire life pulling out weeds? I know I don’t! 😖
The truth is, unhealthy thoughts will inevitably cause anxiety, depression, worry and countless other thorns of discomfort.
Or another way to look at it,
Unhealthy thoughts/thinking are dead weight, having no intrinsic value, whatsoever.
The analogy of a ship and a storm
If you were sailing a ship through a hurricane, would you take onboard your ship unnecessary dead weight?
Would you make every effort imaginable to get rid of as much dead weight as possible, to keep your ship from sinking?
Of course, you would, because it’s a matter of life or death!
In fact you’d be throwing as much dead weight overboard, to lessen your anxiety for having to go through the storm and ensure your survival in getting through it. Wouldn’t you agree?
And that’s the difference between having the right perspective going through life or having the wrong perspective.
One ensures your well-being and helps you get through the storm, while the other will inevitably sink your ship in the storm.
See the difference that having the right perspective can make?
Not every thought is worth holding onto, some need to be let go, while others we need desperately to hold on to. Knowing the difference and your perspective will be something to hold on to.
Or look at it this way,
Having the right perspective is the life preserver that keeps you from drowning amidst the stormy seas of life.
